God is so good! He has again been faithful, and has given us several answers to prayer. According to His perfect timing He sold our home, in what we feel was a miraculous way. He not only sold it, but he sold it in a tough economy for our asking price. The entire transaction went very smoothly and glitch free, which was a second answer to our prayers.
We are now living with Clem's parents until it is time for us to leave for our training in July. Hunter and Allie have done very well with the move. It was understandably tough for them to leave their "home" and their neighborhood friends, but not one tear was shed and when asked they always respond with "yeah mom, we're doing ok". Outside of being very tired (and sometimes a bit grumpy) from the move and a new routine at grandma's house, they have done amazingly well so far...which is also an answer to our prayers. There are still many changes to come for all of us, but the first "difficult" step toward our move to Europe has gone very smoothly. We have truly felt God holding us in his hands and carrying us through this last month and a half. What an awesome God we serve!
What happens next? We leave next Friday (May 15) for Denver, Colorado for our commissioning service. We will be commissioned as missionaries Wednesday evening, May 20. We can't hardly believe we've finally made it to this exciting point in our journey! We are so blessed and excited that both sets of parents and Hunter and Allie will all be able to be there and witness this exciting time in our lives!
June will be busy as we pack the belongings we're taking with us for the move overseas in the crate. June and July will both be filled with making those last trips to see out of town family and friends before leaving the country. Our 8 week training/orientation in Virginia will begin July 27.
What can you do? Continue Praying with us!
* Please continue to pray for our children and their adjustment to the changes that are still ahead in our lives. Hunter and Allie are very sad to be leaving their friends and the familiarity of our home town, church and school. They're a bit scared about making new friends in Prague and learning the Czech language. Continue to pray that they gain an understanding of the joy that comes when one is willing to be obedient to God's will in their lives. Pray that God showers them with peace, and gives them an understanding that this peace comes only from him.
* Please begin praying that Hunter and Allie begin to feel God's call to him and into missions in their own lives. It is our prayer that our children desire God in their lives in such a way that they cannot settle for anything less than Him. And that they cannot settle for any plan in their lives that doesn't come straight from Him.
* Please continue to pray for spiritual strength for each of us against Satan's attacks. He doesn't want us serving God in this capacity and will do whatever he deems necessary to either keep us off the field, or to discourage us once we arrive.
* Please begin praying that Prague (or wherever else God may send us in the future) becomes home to our family. Pray that God begin preparing our new home, neighbors, friends, church and school for our arrival.
* Please begin praying for the Czech people that God intends for us to witness to. Ask God to soften their hearts for his message of love and redemption. Ask God to give us the words and actions of love that they need to hear and feel in their lives, and that they hear and see God in us so that He can receive all of the glory!
We are so excited about God's plan for our family! We can't wait to arrive and begin serving Him among the Czech people. And we can't wait to send you more pictures and stories of the journey ahead!
Be watching for more updates!
With Love,
Clem, Carrie, Hunter and Allie
