WE'RE BACK! We're back from an amazing summer full of English camps, sharing the Gospel and enjoying working with and ministering to all of our new Czech friends. God has definitely been good to us this summer, and has blessed us with many good family times (which were much needed after a difficult and incredibly busy first few months on the field) and many good opportunities to share His love with those we came to love on and serve for His glory!
We are VERY excited to share with you that 15 youth accepted Christ as their personal Savior at our 3rd week of camp! To God be the glory, indeed! Please be in prayer for your new brothers and sisters in Christ. Many of them headed home to small villages and towns with no other believers around to disciple and encourage them. They headed back into their unsaved towns and families to friends, families and neighbors that won't understand their choice to follow Christ, and where these loved ones fear they have joined a cult. You must remember that most Czechs have been told from birth that God does not exist. Please ask God to strengthen, encourage and grow them as only He can, and that they become the light in their communities that shows those around them that God does indeed exist and is alive and well!
I will give you a very quick update and then let you enjoy the photos. Our first camp was with our national partners from our church and others within Prague. At this camp we were ministering to Czechs, mostly from Prague and nearby surrounding areas. Our second camp was with nationals and other missions organization partners from the 2nd largest city in Prague, Brno, mainly ministering to youth from Brno. And then, Clem unexpectedly and at the last minute decided to help with a friend and partner from a different missions group at a 3rd straight week of camp, who was short on native English speakers/teachers.
Each camp had it's own flare and specialness to it. And each camp brought opportunities to engage with the students all day through class time, game time, evening program time and "hangin' out" time. Clem and I both were given opportunities to share the Gospel and our personal testimonies and experiences/relationships with God over the years. It was so exciting to see God stirring in their hearts and to see their curiosity of Him grow.
Each camp also threw "seekers" right into our laps. Jana and Katka are two girls from my classes. Jana asked many questions about forgiveness and how to forgive someone who wrongs you and doesn't say their sorry or ask for your forgiveness. She was also very interested to know how old I was when I became a believer. She was very interested in spiritual conversation, yet seemed so far from comprehending the reality of God. But I saw her wanting to believe He is real and available to her. Katka on the other hand was ready to listen, but not ready to be actively involved in a personal conversation. She cried after our talk on forgiveness, and became very uncomfortable and unengaged when we used some scripture from Psalms for comprehension practice. I saw God stirring in her heart all week. Please pray the God continue to work in Jana and Katka's hearts and that He blesses them with a child-like faith.
Dagmar was the girlfriend of the camp chef our 2nd week of camp. Neither of them had had much experience, if any, with Christians, nor did they seem to have much exposure to Christ and the Gospel. However, we began to see their curiosity grow. They began to take part in camp activities and evening programs. Clem shared the Gospel one night at the evening program and clearly saw God working on her, as she squirmed in her seat. Please pray that God speak to Dagmar's heart and bring about people in her life to witness to her and show her the beauty of God's unconditional love.
Please pray for Martin. Clem had about an hour and half conversation with him on an afternoon hike, and was able to share the Gospel with him during this time. Martin was open to the conversation, but still searching for evidence of the Truth.
These are just a few that we were able to share with, but they are the campers that we really felt God was touching and beginning to reveal himself to.

Yes some camps are rougher than others.

Enjoying the view.

Hunter being a part of the band.

Carrie was one of the talent show judges, American Idol style : )
Hunter and Allie enjoyed participating in the contest and skits.
During one of the hikes, Clem saw an old WWII bunker that was used by the Czechs the German take over.
Pray for Dagmar and Daniel, when Clem spoke on salvation in one of the evening programs and it was clear that the Lord was working on Dagmar's heart. They came to the camp at the last minute. Daniel was the camp Chef. Both heard the gospel.
God continues to amaze us how he brings people into our path to share His love with.
Carrie and Hunter went on a hike with some of the campers that took them to the division line for Moravia and Bohemia (two of the three divisions of the Czech Republic).

Your prayer partnership with us is a vital part of our ministry. Without constant prayer and petition to our Father, we wouldn't be able to do what He's sent us here to do in the manner or to the fullest extent that He desires. But there is another way that you can be a part of our ministry in the Czech Republic. You can come and be a part of these English camps with us. Native English speakers are the draw at these camps. The Czechs come to meet native speakers and learn how we talk, right from the "horses" mouth. Whether you want to come alone, with a team, or with your family we have camps that you can serve at. You don't need prior experience teaching English, there are plenty here to help you with that part, just come with a servant's heart and a willingness to be a special witness in these student's life. We can tell you from experience that these are very special people. They're typically very hard to reach with the Gospel, but at camp they become very open to what we, as Believers, have to say. Some of these campers will not listen in any other setting, but at camp they become a captive and very interested audience. Prayerfully consider if God is asking you to come to the Czech Republic and share His love to the Czechs with Clem and I and national Believers. Camps are held the last 2 weeks of July and first 3 weeks of August.
Below is a video clip that Clem took of two of our national partners, and their stories of how English camp led them to a saving knowledge and personal acceptance of Christ as their Savior. It's well worth your 8 minutes to learn how resistent Czechs are to God, but at English camps this resistence seems to melt away for many.
